Nostalgia Drags, Australia

It was slicks, superchargers and a methanol filled w’end for the Nostalgia Drags.

Proudly brought to us by Cruisin’ Magazine, the Motorplex was filled with vintage steel and the fantastic weather brought out some killer rides. 

Many were not there just to look pretty either and smashed the pedal hard on full noise when the tree lit up, the sweet smell of burnt rubber and high octane complimenting the air. There was some serious numbers being pulled from the VW contingent as well. 

There was also the Show & Shine and The Cranksters organised a little swap meet to add to the mix and a great way to end the week. 

The Emirates Custom Show

The Emirates Custom Show is now in its 3rd consecutive year and growing bigger with every year. Run over a 3 day period,  the show is held at the National Exhibition Centre in Abu Dhabi and we were there from day one!

The show covers the latest in custom automotive products and cars,  to live events and demonstrations in a small custom circuit. There was plenty to see and a surprising number of classic Mini’s which caught us by surprise! There was also a range of 4x4’s, american muscle, japanese imports and amongst them was a great tribute car to the latest Mad Max movie, fury road (nice to see a little bit of Australia at the show)

There was some big money spent on many of the cars, but then this is Abu Dhabi. 2018 may even see one of our rides on the floor…stranger things have happened;)

Pernechele’s Ford Museum, Bailup

For the die-hard Ford fan Pernechele’s Ford Museum is a MUST! A few of the crew got together for a Sunday morning cruise to the town of Bailup, located 30km East of Midland / or around 45 minute drive from Perth City.

Situated on a 94 acre property, Mr Pernechele has one of the largest private Ford collections in Australia with most models represented and housed in a number of well designed individual buildings. There were also a number of other marques represented and you could easily spend a day there and not take everything in, including all the cabinets and walls full of memorabilia and photos!

We’d like to thank him and his staff for their hospitality and for sharing his collection with everyone. We will be visiting again..

Wheels 2017 | Lamborghini Super Trofeo, Middle East

There were a couple of exciting motorsport days earlier this month.  

First off was the Wheels Car of the Year Awards for 2017 held at the Waldorf Astoria on the Palm in Dubai with special thanks to Alex Hirschi aka Supercar Blondie for the invitation (Follow Alex @supercarblondie on Instagram as she gets behind the wheel of the worlds best Supercars)

Volkswagen and Porsche had a successful night taking out a number of awards, but Lamborghini's Huracan Spyder took out ‘Best Supercar’, with the McLaren ‘Best Sportscar’ going to the 540C. The new BMW M2 won the ultimate title of 'Car of the Year’.

It was a great event to be a part of.

The second event was the Lamborghini Super Trofeo Middle East.

The Dubai Autodrome is a state of the art race track and guarantees an amazing event. Getting to see and hear these machines on the rev limiter and at peak performance is simple mind blowing, and to also have the opportunity to visit the pits and walk out on the starting grid is a real thrill! 

Team GLD Racing took the win with drivers Rik Breukers and Axcil Jefferies, with five victories from six races and 4 pole positions!

The Lamborghini dream continues for us..the ultimate supercar.

Cruisin Automotive Open Day | 'End of Dayz' Ford & Holden Show

Cruising Automotive in Malaga had their first open day/car show on Sunday (and fund raising for Camp Quality).

Hotrods, drag cars and US muscle made their presence felt along with Jay from Speedtech Performance also on hand to chat about their Pro-Touring products.

An abundance of cool cars, music and fresh coffee added to the atmosphere and the slight drizzle didnt hamper anyone’s mood. 

We then drove up to check out the ‘End of Dayz’ Ford and Holden show in Kingsway. Some fantastic examples from both marques were represented and was well catered for. Cool Sunday.
