Vintage Swap Meet, Northam W.A

This sunday we took a cruise to the annual Vintage Swap Meet at the Northam Show Grounds.

Northam is a little less than 100km from Perth and is situated on the picturesque Avon River.

Up at the crack of dawn It was a fantastic early morning cruise made better by the clear, crisp morning…which would later decide to heat up to an uncomfortable level!

There was loads to see and quite a few bargains to be found !(No luck for us though…not this time anyways). The parking area had some nice rides as well which only added to what was a great day.

*We spotted this dude representing!(Custom car builder and friend Clint from SRM);)

Formula DXB

Caffeine and Machine was on again and a special mention goes to the French toast breakfast beforehand…it was delicious. A fantastic collection of cars were at the show and the standouts for us were the 15 window bus and the somewhat “subtle” 240Z….followed by the Lamborghini GT of course.

Special mentions should go to the ultra rare Ferrari F50(one of only 4 in black) and the uber cool chopped and slammed Caddy. Many of the local garages also had their doors open and we noticed something a little unique at the back of Nostalgic Classic Cars.  A 1988 Lamborghini 4x4. Only 300 produce and beauty was definitely in the eye of the beholder for this one.

We also had something a little different organised for the rest of the day…some track time with Formula DXB, an ultra-light single seater race car with 180BHP and 4.6 sec 1-100Km/h.

With great power to weight ratio and sticky slicks it was quite a handful around the 1.2km oval circuit, made even more challenging with the sand on the track. You really had to keep your wits about you exiting the apex on full noise and you definitely felt the G’s.

What a fun day and hope you enjoy the shots.

Caffeine & Machines

Cars, sun and coffee. This is our kind of Friday morning.

Caffeine and Machine teamed up with CarCulture to pull together a meet down at Warehouse 4 in Dubai.  Now this was cool.

The stand out for us personally was a late 50's Mercedes Benz.  Not the first pick on anyones list but the owner was great and the Merc had a fantastic tale.

The car was originally an embassy car in Syria and was then sold in the 1970’s to the current owners grand dad. It was well loved but for one reason or another it ended up in storage. As time passed by it patiently sat and waited.  The new owner had always loved the car and just before they were going to get their licence an agreement was made; an agreement between father and son.  If he could get his licence and get the car running it would be his. What a challenge and one not to be taken lightly!

As fate would have it we now all get to experience this beautiful car with an interesting history on the road in all of its originality. Simply stunning.

Day of the VW 2016

The Day of the Volkswagen was held in Wilson Park, South Fremantle and the new venue was a huge success!

With perfect weather and fun activities for everyone it was a great way to spend a sunday morning, sipping an expresso, toe tapping to DJ Paul,  oogling at dubs and yacking with friends…..the day was only to be made better by picking up a trophy for best ‘VW Affiliate’ for the øg356!

Jamie, drapped in Hawaii Five-O guise and the rest of the commitee did a stellar job organising the show which was clearly evident with the smiles on faces so a big thank you to them.
Well done!
