Miami Auto Museum_The Dezer Collection

We recently visited the Miami Auto Museum (Dezer Collection). The museum has a large collection of European and American automobiles with a few Hollywood cars thrown in, all part of the collection owned by Michael Dezer, a local real estate developer.
The cars where in fantastic condition and from what we could see they were for sale and no, we didn’t buy any but the temptation was there! Some of the price tags on the information boards were a little out of date, getting a VW bus in great condition for $24K seemed a little low.

There is just something cool about big old American cars from the 50's and 60's, draped in period correct paint!

In addition to the great cars they had a fantastic motorbike section with bikes from floor to ceiling.  The Dezer Collection has the largest collect of Vespas in the world.

1985 Ducati TT2 Replica (F3 Base)
With its 540cc(51 x 82mm) and unique Ducati note, this was a private import by Brendan which sees regular street use with upgrades to the suspension and braking. One of many in his collection of bikes and in  rider condition!

1963 Volvo 544
The Volvo PV was built between 1947-1966 with the basic aesthetics remaining the same but with gradual upgrades through the years. This PV is owned by Wayne and runs a 1800 with twin SU’s producing around 118hp and mated to a 4 speed. In superb original condition, it has been given a restoration in the past and is driven on a regular basis...

Janis Joplin's 356

The 356 Porsche was one of the star attractions at the Driven By Disruption auction by Sotheby's in New York (10th Dec). After overhearing a conversation about the 356 between a customer and the bookshop owner I couldn't help myself from interrupting when they were discussing the car being a Mini! Bidding on a car like this is amazing...bidding on a car like this but thinking it's a Mini is even more amazing!!

The winning bid was USD$1,760,000 (excluding auction fees) with an initial purchase price of USD$3500 by Janis Joplin!

"Enjoy and have fun, and why not, if in the end, everything will end, right?" - Janis Joplin

Apocalaps V2.1_Pro Touring Event

Apocalaps V2.1 was the place to be if you wanted to see tough classics and cool muscle cars put through their paces by owners who arent afraid to push them to the limit.
The event was held at the RAC Driving Centre and is an extremely well organised event put together by Justin Murphy and Matt Willis, with drivers pitted up against each other(mainly for bragging rights) and their PB’s around a well designed and safe environment.
Definitely one not to miss for the motorsport die hard with more meets organised for 2016!

Day of the Volkswagen, Perth WA

The Volkswagen Club of WA annual show was on Sunday and although Perth had some unusually grey sky's and a slight drizzle for the season the dubs were out in force. Everything from vintage air to modern water were on display in an open and friendly atmosphere..
